    What is the Kathmandu Marathon?

    Kathmandu Marathon is Nepal's largest city running event, organized by NRS Sports Foundation. The event offers race categories for runners of all ages and fitness levels.

    What are the reporting and start times?

    Marathon & Half Marathon

    How can I register?

    What is the registration fee?

    Is there any age limit?

    Participants must be at least 18 years old to take part in the Marathon (42.195 km).

  • 8.
    Can I change my race category after registration?

    Principally no. Category changes or transfers are not permitted. In special cases, changes may be allowed until Bib Distribution Day with an administrative fee of NPR 500.

    Is the registration fee refundable?

    Registration fees are non-refundable.

  • 10.
    Can I transfer my registration to another person?

    Principally no. Transfers are not permitted. In special cases, transfers may be allowed until Bib Distribution Day with an administrative charge of NPR 500.

  • 12.
    When and where can I collect my BIB and race kit?

    Collection Dates:
    • 2nd & 3rd October 2026 (Friday & Saturday)
    • Venue will be updated soon

  • 13.
    What documents do I need for BIB collection?

    Please bring:
    • Race confirmation letter, or
    • Registration confirmation number

  • 14.
    What should I wear and carry on race day?

    Wear comfortable running clothes and running shoes. Carry only essential items such as your BIB, hydration, and any personal medication you may require.

    Will there be water and medical stations on the route?

    Yes. Water and sponge stations will be available every 2.5 km along the route. Medical stations will be available every 10 km to provide assistance when needed.

  • 16.
    Is parking available?

    School and college buses are allowed to park in the Dasarath Rangashala area. Participants are requested to use parking near the Dharahara area.

  • 17.
    What are the race cut-off times?

    • Marathon (42.195 km): 5 hours
    • Half Marathon (21.1 km): 3 hours 30 minutes
    • 10K: 1 hour 30 minutes

    A collector van will be available for participants who are unable to complete the race within the cut-off time, and runners are kindly requested to use the provided transport. After the cut-off time, the organizers will not be responsible for any assistance or services on the course.

    How can I check my race results and download my finisher certificate?

    Race results and finisher certificates will be available online after the event.

  • 19.
    Is bag drop facility available?

    Yes, a bag drop facility will be available. However, organizers will not be responsible for any loss or damage of belongings. Participants are advised not to leave valuables such as cash, jewelry, or expensive items.

  • 20.
    Can someone else collect my BIB and T-shirt on my behalf?

    Yes. Your representative must bring:
    • A copy of your citizenship/passport, and
    • Your registration confirmation

  • 21.
    Can I collect my BIB after the official collection dates if I am outside Kathmandu Valley?

    If you are unable to collect your BIB personally, you may authorize someone to collect it on your behalf. After the given dates, BIB will not be distributed.

    International participants may provide hotel details, and race kits will be arranged for delivery accordingly.

  • 22.
    Is there a finisher’s T-shirt available?

    Yes, finisher’s T-shirts are available at an additional cost. During the registration process, you will have the option to select it. The T-shirt will be distributed on the event day at the event spot.
